As it stands right now a Memorial for Snowflake has been canceled, and if an when it is rescheduled I will let people
know.
I have some Grave news to pass on. Actually I have some worse news to pass on. According to Monica who owns Raphael's
Hair salon. Wayne M. Smith "Snowflake" passed on on 08-08-08. She also told me she went to his funeral that happened a few
days later. I look at it this way since Wayne was apart of the woodworking crew that put in the beautiful wood work in Raphael's
hair salon, a part of him will still be here. Also if some other functions gets planned here in Athens to remember him, I
will try to let people know.
If anybody feels hey, I wish I had something from him to remember him by, you do. You have what he taught us "The only place
I can go from here is up", and " Don't believe in me believe in yourself". He would want us to think and feel positive about
things and not feel too sad about his passing. Though I know we will feel sad though.
(this is old news but, still explains some valid stuff)
I have had many people ask me where Snowflake is, and now I can tell you. Someone had told me on Friday that Wayne had gone
to visit his Brother in Springfield, OH. Also I was told that Wayne (Snowflake) had, had bronchitis or Pneumonia (they did
not know which) that he had not taken very good care of here in Athens and when he got to his brothers place things got worse.
At his brothers he had a stroke than, a heart attack and was in a coma at a V.A. Hospital. I knew it had been a long time
since I or anybody had seen him. I just figured maybe his brother had gotten him to stay up there like Snowflake had told
me he had tried to before. Also I did not want to believe this news being as Grave as it was. So, on Saturday June 28 around
6:20 I called the Dayton, OH V.A. Hospital and found out Snowflake was there (news I did not want to hear) in stable condition,
but is very sick. So, please put him in your prayers.
On this site I'll include news, photos, and more, all of Wayne Smith A.K.A.Snowflake. How he got his nickname is
quite amusing but I'll leave it up to him to tell you how he got it.
On this home page, I plan to include some information about Snowflake(Wayne M. Smith). The little African American
guy who sang Motown songs while playing spoons on the People's Bank steps.
Thanks for taking a look at my site. Be
sure to get in touch with your thoughts and suggestions. Please leave messages for Snowflake in the guest book. He would love
to here from you. I'll be updating as frequently as I can, so please check back often.
